Pepperoni Cheese Baked Dip (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Mixture

01 - 225 grams cream cheese, softened
02 - 120 millilitres sour cream
03 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
05 - 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Toppings

06 - 100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
07 - 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
08 - 100 grams mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni
09 - 120 millilitres pizza sauce or marinara sauce
10 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 190°C.
02 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth and evenly incorporated.
03 - Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into the bottom of a 23-centimetre oven-safe dish or cast-iron skillet. Spread the pizza or marinara sauce evenly over the cream cheese layer.
04 - Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce. Top with pepperoni, distributing evenly across the surface.
05 - Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese is lightly golden.
06 - Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end for a golden, bubbling top if desired.
07 - Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped basil or parsley, and serve hot with toasted baguette slices, crackers, pita chips, or breadsticks.

# Notes:

01 - Allow cream cheese to come to room temperature for ease of mixing and a smoother base.
02 - For additional flavour or texture, layer in sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or sliced olives before baking.
03 - For a cheesier result, add a layer of provolone, fontina, or cheddar beneath the sauce.
