01 -
Place the lion's mane mushroom stem-side down on a cutting board. Slice down the middle, then cut 1.5-inch thick steaks from each half. You may obtain 3-6 steaks depending on the size of your mushroom.
02 -
Spray or brush a thin layer of olive oil onto the tops of the mushroom steaks. Sprinkle each steak with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of steak seasoning.
03 -
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Lightly coat the pan with olive oil. Place the mushroom steaks seasoned-side down, cover the skillet, and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and browned on the bottom. Avoid burning.
04 -
Uncover the pan, spray or brush the other side of the steaks with olive oil, and season them. Flip the steaks and cook uncovered for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked. If liquid collects in the pan, use tongs and a paper towel to absorb it, then continue cooking until the mushrooms are no longer soggy.
05 -
Top each mushroom steak with a thin slice of salted or compound butter and let it melt. Serve hot.
