# Ingredients:

→ Salad Base

01 - 2 cans (425 g each) sweet peas, drained, or 3 cups (450 g) frozen peas, thawed
02 - 1 cup (115 g) cheddar cheese, cubed or shredded
03 - 1/3 cup (50 g) red onion, finely diced
04 - 1/2 cup (60 g) cooked bacon, crumbled

→ Dressing

05 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
06 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
07 - 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar
08 - 1 teaspoon (4 g) sugar, optional
09 - Salt and black pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, and sugar until the mixture is smooth.
02 - Gently add the peas, cheddar cheese, red onion, and crumbled bacon to the bowl. Fold together until evenly coated in the dressing.
03 - Season the salad with salt and black pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
04 - Optional: Garnish with extra bacon or cheese just before serving. Serve chilled.

# Notes:

01 - For a vegetarian version, omit bacon or substitute with a plant-based alternative.
02 - Stir in diced hard-boiled eggs or chopped pickles to add texture and taste.
03 - Prepare ahead; the salad develops even more flavor after resting overnight.
