Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Place a layer of biscuits or sponge cake at the bottom of a dish. Spread a layer of the whipped cream mixture over it. Repeat the layering process (biscuit/cake, then cream) 2-3 times, finishing with cream on top.

Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top cream layer.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Slice and serve chilled.
