Place a piece of parchment or silicone mat on a large plate or sheet pan, then set aside.

Add all ingredients to a medium non-stick skillet.

Place the skillet over high heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 4 minutes.

Reduce the heat to medium, stir continuously for an additional 1 minute, and cook until all the moisture evaporates. The walnuts will darken, become glossier, and begin to clump together.

It is essential to ensure that all liquid has evaporated before removing from heat. Leftover moisture may cause the walnuts to become sticky and less crunchy.

Transfer the nuts onto the prepared plate, scraping off any remaining caramel from the pan. Spread the nuts in a single layer and sprinkle additional sea salt evenly on top. Allow them to cool to room temperature.

Once cooled, break the walnuts apart using your fingers and serve as desired.
