5 Minute Caramel Walnuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup walnuts
02 - 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon golden brown sugar, packed
03 - 1/4 cup water
04 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
05 - 1/8 teaspoon salt, plus more for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Place a piece of parchment or silicone mat on a large plate or sheet pan, then set aside.
02 - Add all ingredients to a medium non-stick skillet.
03 - Place the skillet over high heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 4 minutes.
04 - Reduce the heat to medium, stir continuously for an additional 1 minute, and cook until all the moisture evaporates. The walnuts will darken, become glossier, and begin to clump together.
05 - It is essential to ensure that all liquid has evaporated before removing from heat. Leftover moisture may cause the walnuts to become sticky and less crunchy.
06 - Transfer the nuts onto the prepared plate, scraping off any remaining caramel from the pan. Spread the nuts in a single layer and sprinkle additional sea salt evenly on top. Allow them to cool to room temperature.
07 - Once cooled, break the walnuts apart using your fingers and serve as desired.

# Notes:

01 - Non-stick skillet is ideal to prevent sticking and burning.
02 - Cook until no moisture remains for crunchy texture.
03 - Spoon any leftover caramel in the pan onto the nuts for extra flavor.
