Easy One-Pot Cabbage Beef Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 teaspoon olive oil
02 - 1 small onion, chopped
03 - 1 clove garlic, minced
04 - 1 lb lean ground beef
05 - 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes with herbs, drained
06 - 8 oz low carb marinara sauce
07 - ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
08 - ¼ teaspoon salt
09 - 3 cups chopped cabbage

→ Optional Side

10 - Cooked rice (for non-low carb option)

# Instructions:

01 - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
02 - Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions and garlic. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
03 - Return the skillet to the heat and add the drained diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, cinnamon, and salt. Stir everything together to combine well.
04 - Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to mix with the meat sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the skillet with a lid.
05 - Continue cooking for 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage has softened to your liking. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
06 - Serve hot as is for a low-carb meal, or with a side of rice for a more family-friendly option that's not low-carb.

# Notes:

01 - For best flavor, brown your ground beef in batches if your skillet is not large enough. Overcrowding will cause the meat to steam rather than brown.
02 - If you prefer milder onion flavor, substitute green onions, leeks, or even onion powder for the yellow/white onion.
03 - Always taste before serving to adjust salt and pepper to your preference.
