Homemade coffee shop favorite (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Syrup Base

01 - 1/2 cup sugar
02 - 1/2 cup water
03 - 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
04 - 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

→ Spices

05 - 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

# Instructions:

01 - In a small pot, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar completely dissolves and the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
02 - Once the simple syrup reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low to prevent burning or over-reducing.
03 - Add the pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin pie spice, and salt to the pot with the simple syrup. Stir everything together thoroughly.
04 - Continue stirring the mixture over low heat for 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are well incorporated and the sauce is smooth and slightly warmed through.
05 - Remove the pot from heat and allow the pumpkin spice sauce to cool completely. Transfer to a glass jar or airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

# Notes:

01 - This recipe makes approximately 40 tablespoons of pumpkin spice syrup, enough for about 10 lattes using 4 tablespoons per drink.
02 - For a pumpkin spice latte, add 4 tablespoons of this syrup to a cup of hot coffee or chai tea, then top with steamed milk.
03 - The sauce will thicken when refrigerated but will thin out when added to hot beverages.
