Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main ingredients

01 - 2.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
02 - Salt and black pepper
03 - ⅓ cup honey
04 - ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
05 - 6 cloves garlic, minced
06 - ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

→ Optional toppings

07 - Sliced green onions
08 - Chopped peanuts
09 - Chopped parsley or cilantro
10 - Extra sprinkle of red pepper flakes
11 - Drizzle of sriracha

# Instructions:

01 - Season chicken thighs lightly with salt and black pepper and add to the insert of your slow cooker.
02 - Mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl and pour the sauce over the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
03 - Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2 ½-3 hours.
04 - Remove the chicken thighs and either cut them into chunks or shred with two forks. Mix the chicken back into the sauce in the slow cooker and let sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb the juices.
05 - Serve hot with desired toppings such as green onions, peanuts, cilantro, or sriracha. Enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - For gluten-free, substitute tamari for soy sauce.
02 - Adjust red pepper flakes for heat. A smaller amount creates a mild dish suitable for children.
03 - Serve over steamed rice, cauliflower rice, or noodles, and pair with steamed vegetables like broccoli or snow peas.
04 - Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 5 months. Thaw frozen leftovers overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
