Turn oven to 350°F. Put parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Beat butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Mix in almond extract.

In another bowl, mix flour, chopped almonds, and salt.

Add dry mix to butter mix slowly, stirring just until combined.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Make a dent in each, add preserves, then seal and re-roll smooth.

Put cookies on sheet and bake 12-15 minutes until edges turn light golden.

Let cool a few minutes. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
