Lay out the bread slices on a clean surface. Spread pizza sauce on one side of each slice; for a saucier result, coat both sides.
02 -
On two slices, layer half the mozzarella, arrange the pepperoni slices evenly, then add the remaining cheese. Top each with the remaining bread slices, sauce side facing inwards.
03 -
Spread softened butter on the outer side of each sandwich. Optionally, sprinkle with Italian seasoning or garlic powder to enhance flavor.
04 -
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
05 -
Remove sandwiches from the pan, slice in half, and serve immediately with additional warm pizza sauce for dipping.
