→ Assembly

15 - 2 cups cooked short or medium grain white rice
16 - 2 large eggs
17 - 1 tablespoon butter or oil
18 - Chopped green onions or parsley (optional, for garnish)

# Instructions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Shape the mixture into 2 large, even patties.
02 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until browned on the outside and cooked through. Transfer patties to a plate and keep warm.
03 - In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir constantly for 1–2 minutes to form a light golden roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and simmer for 3–4 minutes, until thickened and smooth. Season gravy with salt and black pepper to taste.
04 - Heat butter or oil in a clean non-stick pan over medium heat. Crack eggs into the pan and fry sunny-side up or until preferred degree of doneness.
05 - Divide hot cooked rice between plates. Top each portion of rice with a beef patty. Spoon generous amounts of hot gravy over the patties. Place a fried egg on top of each. Garnish with chopped green onions or fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - For a richer sauce, whisk a splash of heavy cream into the gravy before serving.
02 - Ground turkey or chicken can substitute for beef to lighten the dish.
03 - Increase the quantity of gravy if desired, as it is essential to the classic experience.
