Rich Homemade Spaghetti Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meats

01 - 1 pound hot Italian sausage
02 - 1 pound lean ground beef

→ Vegetables & Herbs

03 - 1 large sweet onion, diced
04 - 5 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1/3 cup fresh chopped parsley

→ Tomato Base

06 - 12 ounces tomato paste
07 - 15 ounce can diced fire roasted tomatoes
08 - 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
09 - 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth

→ Seasonings

10 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
11 - 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
12 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
13 - 1/2 teaspoon pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Cook sausage and beef in a large pot over medium-high heat, breaking into small pieces. Add onion and garlic, cook until meat is browned. Drain excess grease.
02 - Reduce to medium heat. Stir in sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, parsley, and tomato paste until well combined.
03 - Pour in fire roasted tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and broth. Stir until well combined.
04 - Bring to simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook for at least 1 hour, ideally 3-4 hours for best flavor.
