Gingerbread Cake with Cinnamon Molasses Frosting (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda.
03 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
05 - 2 teaspoons ground ginger.
06 - 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
07 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.
08 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
09 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened.
10 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
11 - 1/2 cup molasses.
12 - 1/2 cup brown sugar.
13 - 2 large eggs.
14 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
15 - 1 cup buttermilk.
16 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened.
17 - 1/2 cup butter for frosting.
18 - 3 cups powdered sugar.
19 - 1 tablespoon molasses for frosting.
20 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon for frosting.
21 - 1 teaspoon vanilla for frosting.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line 9x13 pan with parchment.
02 - Whisk flour, leaveners, salt and spices.
03 - Beat butter, sugars, then eggs, molasses and vanilla.
04 - Add dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk.
05 - Pour in pan, bake 30-35 minutes until done.
06 - Beat cream cheese, butter, then add sugar and flavorings.
07 - Cool cake completely, frost and decorate.

01 - Can make buttermilk substitute with milk and vinegar.
02 - Make ahead up to 1 day.
