09 - Vegetable oil for deep frying (enough for 2-inches depth in a large pot)

# Instructions:

01 - Pour vegetable oil to a depth of 2 inches in a large, heavy pot. Heat over medium-high heat until the oil reaches 375°F. Use a kitchen thermometer to check the temperature.
02 - While the oil heats, whisk the flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper together in a shallow bowl or plate.
03 - Add the hot sauce and water to your dry ingredients. Mix everything until smooth to form your pickle batter.
04 - Take a handful of pickle slices and dip them in the batter, making sure they're completely coated on all sides.
05 - Carefully lower the battered pickles into the hot oil one at a time. Fry in small batches (don't overcrowd the pot) for 1-2 minutes per side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
06 - Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain off excess oil. Serve while still warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

# Notes:

01 - It's important to thoroughly dry the pickle slices before battering them - this helps the batter stick better.
02 - These pickles are best enjoyed fresh and hot from the fryer.
03 - Ranch dressing, spicy mayo, or remoulade sauce all make excellent dipping options.
