03 - 10.5 ounces condensed cream of chicken soup

05 - ¾ cup butter, melted, divided

07 - 1 teaspoon salt
08 - ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
09 - 2 cups crushed cornflakes

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and gather all ingredients.
02 - In a large bowl, mix hash browns, shredded Cheddar cheese, condensed soup, sour cream, ½ cup of melted butter, chopped onion, salt, and ground black pepper.
03 - Spread the mixture evenly into a 3-quart casserole dish.
04 - In a saucepan over medium heat, combine remaining ¼ cup melted butter with crushed cornflakes, stirring gently to coat.
05 - Sprinkle the cornflake mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
06 - Cover the casserole and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until hot and the topping is crispy.
