Beef Goulash Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
02 - 1 large yellow onion, diced
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 2 (15 oz) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
05 - 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
06 - 1 (15 oz) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained (optional)
07 - 1 ½ tablespoons Italian seasoning
08 - 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic salt
10 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
11 - 4 cups beef broth (or half water, half broth)
12 - 16 oz large elbow noodles (can use up to 24 oz pasta)
13 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
14 - Fresh parsley for garnish, optional

# Instructions:

01 - In a large pot over medium-high heat, thoroughly brown the ground beef, breaking it apart into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
02 - Once browned, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 5 minutes.
03 - Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and red kidney beans. Stir in Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and black pepper. Pour in beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
04 - Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine flavors.
05 - Add noodles to the pot and simmer an additional 8 to 10 minutes, stirring periodically, until pasta is al dente. Avoid overcooking the noodles.
06 - Remove the pot from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
07 - Serve immediately with fresh parsley sprinkled on top, if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
02 - To reheat, warm leftovers on the stovetop over medium heat or in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Add a splash of water or broth to loosen up the sauce if necessary.
