Baklava Cookie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted.
02 - 1/4 cup sugar.
03 - 1/4 cup light brown sugar.
04 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
05 - 1 tsp orange zest.
06 - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
07 - 1/4 tsp baking soda.
08 - 1/4 tsp salt.
09 - 1/4 tsp cinnamon.
10 - 1/3 cup pecans, chopped.
11 - 1/3 cup almonds, chopped.
12 - 1/4 cup light brown sugar.
13 - 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
14 - 1/8 tsp cloves.
15 - 1/8 tsp nutmeg.
16 - 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted.
17 - 1/3 cup honey.
18 - 3 Tbsp water.
19 - 1 Tbsp fresh orange juice.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line 8-inch square pan with parchment.
02 - Mix melted butter, sugars, vanilla, orange zest. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon. Press into pan. Bake 15-16 minutes.
03 - Mix nuts, brown sugar, spices, melted butter. Spread over warm crust. Bake 10-12 minutes more.
04 - Boil honey, water, orange juice until syrupy, about 5 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
05 - Pour syrup over warm bars. Cool completely.
06 - Cut into triangles. Drizzle extra honey if desired.
