In a skillet over medium heat, fry the bacon strips until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Spread the softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.

Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet over medium-low heat. Layer with cheddar cheese, the cooked bacon, dill pickle slices, and the Swiss cheese.

Top with the remaining bread slice, buttered side up. Gently press down with a spatula. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
