In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Break the beef into small, uniform pieces as it cooks. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, approximately 8 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the skillet and allow the cooked beef to cool slightly.
02 -
Stack the flour tortillas on a microwave-safe plate. Cover them with a damp paper towel and microwave for 20 seconds, or until they become pliable. Alternatively, for a slightly crisper texture, toast each tortilla individually in a dry skillet for a few seconds per side.
03 -
Lay a softened tortilla flat on a clean surface. Create a line of mayonnaise and ketchup down the center of the tortilla. Evenly distribute dill pickle slices, then place a slice of American cheese, and finally about 120 ml of the cooked ground beef on top. Gently press down on the beef to compact the filling.
04 -
Fold the opposing sides of the tortilla inward over the filling. Starting from the bottom edge, roll the tortilla up tightly, ensuring all components are snugly contained within. Place the assembled wraps seam-side down to prevent unrolling.
05 -
Preheat your air fryer to 190°C. Lightly brush the tops of the prepared wraps with melted butter. Carefully arrange the wraps, seam-side down, in the air fryer basket, ensuring sufficient space between each for even cooking. Air fry for 5 minutes, or until they achieve a golden-brown color and a crisp texture.
06 -
Remove the crispy wraps from the air fryer. For an extra touch, brush with a small amount of additional melted butter. Allow them to rest for 2 minutes before slicing in half and serving immediately.
